I have sewn for almost as long as I can remember: making dolls’ clothes from scraps of fabric, learning embroidery at Junior School and learning to machine sew on my Mum’s old straight stitch Singer. They were not always happy memories, Secondary School lessons that concentrated on perfection (this involved lots of unpicking and doing again) and the making of garments that were so hopelessly old-fashioned that I never wore them, almost put me off sewing for life. But eventually my Mum’s skill and encouragement won me over and I have stitched happily ever since.

I want to make my club a happy and fun experience for your children, and hope that they will enjoy developing, not only a useful skill, but a lifelong hobby that will give them endless pleasure.
